GOLF IS METAL.
It’s true. And I have absolutely zero compunction arguing the facts. Or at least, the facts as I see them- because yes, I am a golfer and a metalhead, and while most would probably never compare or connect the two, here goes.
Sports and Music- they go hand in hand as we trip down the road of life- and if we wanted to look at this on a larger scale, I would say that football is like punk music, basketball is of course hip-hop, baseball is watered down arena rock and nascar- well,…

Front man Randall Blythe will take a short break from recording the new Lamb of God album in Richmond and join his vocal teacher Melissa Cross at a Zen of Screaming seminar on September 16th in Portland, Oregon. The seminar held at Mt. Tabor’s Legacy promises an ultimate vocal relief regimen for career rage-aholics and career advice from a panel featuring former Divine Heresy singer, Tommy Vext, Jake Weholt (From Aphony), Andrew Moore (Kane Hodder), Tryg Littlefield (Fall from Grace) and Sam Logan (Rustmine).
Prior to the seminar, Blythe and Vext will join Melissa Cross in the medical office of a nationally acclaimed laryngologist for a research effort relating to the mechanics of vocal distortion intended for presentation to prestigious Voice Foundation in 2009. “We’re putting the camera down their throats,” said Cross, “because vocalists and the voice professionals that help them need to know exactly what is going on down there.” With a client list longer than the porta-potty line at OzzFest, Cross began a crusade to bring credibility and information regarding a healthy approach to brutal vocals with the release of The Zen of Screaming and Zen of Screaming 2 DVDs. In addition to sharing vocal wisdom to singers, Blythe warns fellow party warriors, “..be prepared because I am going to tear it up in Portland!”
Another earlier Zen of Screaming seminar with a similar panel will take place in Seattle on Saturday, September 13th at London Bridge Studios. Space is limited. Tickets are now on sale at www.zenofscreamingpacificnorthwest.com. Melissa Cross will also be available for private lessons at both locations.
